Mario Lisson

Mario Lisson founded Pentagon Baseball Academy in 2020 with a clear mission: build a program in Orlando where young athletes don't just play baseball — they fall in love with the game. With a deep passion for player development and a commitment to doing things the right way, Mario has grown PBA from the ground up into a competitive travel baseball program that develops the whole player — on and off the field.

Mario brings a rare combination of professional playing experience and elite-level coaching to Pentagon Baseball Academy. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Mario signed with the Kansas City Royals organization in 2002 and went on to play over 1,100 professional games across more than 15 seasons — reaching Triple-A and competing in the Venezuelan Winter League, the Mexican League, and representing Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic. Most recently, Mario served as Bench Coach for Navegantes del Magallanes in the LVBP, winning the Championship in the 2025–2026 season.

After retiring as a player, Mario transitioned into managing and coaching within the Washington Nationals organization. He managed the GCL Nationals (2018–2019), the Single-A Fredericksburg Nationals (2021), and the A+ Wilmington Blue Rocks (2022–2024) — developing dozens of prospects along the way. He is currently serving as Defensive Coach for the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings.

At Pentagon, Mario brings all of that professional knowledge directly to youth athletes — with a passion for teaching the game the right way from day one.

His coaching philosophy centers on five pillars: Mechanics, Athleticism, Baseball IQ, Character, and Community. Under his leadership, PBA has trained over 150 athletes and continues to build a reputation as one of Orlando's most dedicated youth baseball programs.
